Mayor Dana Ralph read a proclamation designating October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and invited Gina Finley of Dawn Domestic Abuse Women's Network to speak. Finley said Dawn operates a shelter in Kent and an advocacy center nearby and thanked the city for support that allows the organization to "serve over 2,000 people a year."
