Electoral board asks the county for $150,000 to replace aging voting machines

"We feel it's incumbent upon us as the electoral board of the county to protect the county's reputation and request the new equipment," Ruberry said. The electoral board supplied a vendor quote (about $152,000) and asked the board to appropriate funds so new equipment would be ready for future elections. Board members noted the request was included in the county's conceptual CIP but had not been funded.
County staff said the electoral board's request would be listed among potential CIP funding options and that the county would provide the detailed project list requested by the board. The board asked staff to include the electoral-board request in the ongoing CIP funding considerations.
