The Planning & Zoning Commission approved S9425, a resurvey consolidating part of Lots 27–29 in the WE Bowers area (about 0.24 acres near University Boulevard East). The petitioner submitted a revised plat in response to staff comments and engineering concurred with two variance requests.
Petitioner representative Chris Sentell told the commission the plat revision addressed a requested corner radius and that the east and north sidewalk waiver is warranted because steep terrain and a retaining wall make ADA-compliant sidewalks impracticable. Commissioners asked about adjacent sidewalks and staff confirmed the parcel sits in an area with inconsistent sidewalk coverage.
The commission approved the resurvey and the sidewalk waiver based on the site's topography and the absence of existing sidewalks on adjoining stretches of the road.
