Superintendent reports ribbon-cutting for career-tech spaces, schedules work session on consultant recommendations

Superintendent Dr. Hunt told the board the district held a ribbon cutting at 5:00 p.m. to open two new career-technical education spaces in auto collision and carpentry at Normandy High School and invited board members and community partners to visit the facilities.
"First up, at 05:00, we held a ribbon cutting for our 2 brand new career tech ed spaces in auto collision and carpentry. Back here at Normandy High School, very well attended by some staff, some students, community partners," Dr. Hunt said.
Dr. Hunt also noted upcoming events: the Battle of Parma (Normandy High School versus Valley Forge) and a kindergarten-to-senior walk at Byers Field intended to celebrate student progression. He told members he would schedule a 45-minute work session at the next board meeting (the sixth) to go over considerations from the Burns Van Fleet transition plan and audit and to solicit board input on implementable items.
A proclamation from the mayor of Parma Heights supporting the district levy was presented; board members noted additional citywide expressions of support. Dr. Hunt accepted the proclamation and thanked Parma Heights and other local jurisdictions for their support.
