Triton committee approves consent agenda including donations and field trips

The Triton Regional School Committee approved the consent agenda at its Oct. 8 meeting, accepting six donations and authorizing three overnight or out-of-school field trips.
The donations listed on the agenda included $4,000 from the NES PTA toward Newbury Elementary sixth-grade camp; $2,000 from the Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation toward the same camp; $1,613 from the Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation for hands-on learning supplies at Triton Regional High School; $2,500 from the Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation to offset start-up costs for an esports team; $682.24 from Elsie Torres toward a Triton High School DECA bus rental; and a donation of sealed goggles and plastic face shields from the Raleigh Fire Department for Triton High School science labs. The consent agenda also authorized Newberry Elementary fourth graders to visit Seacoast Science Center (June 4, 2026) and other scheduled trips.
A member moved to approve the consent agenda and it was seconded; the committee approved the item by roll-call vote with recorded "yes" votes from Nerissa, Erin, Caitlin, Kelly, Matthew, Paul Goldner, Paul Maiet and Chair Linda Lipofsky.
