Huron council appoints and swears in Stuart Hamilton as city manager, effective Oct. 15, 2025

The Huron City Council on first reading and by emergency adoption approved Ordinance 2025-29 appointing Stuart Hamilton as city manager effective Oct. 15, 2025, at 12:00 a.m., and authorized a First Amendment to his employment agreement.
Council moved to declare the ordinance an emergency measure, approved the emergency declaration by roll-call vote, and then completed final adoption. Immediately after the vote, the council administered the oath of office and Mr. Hamilton was sworn in at the meeting.
During the oath Mr. Hamilton repeated the pledge to support the constitutions of the United States and the state of Ohio and to faithfully discharge the duties of city manager. The ordinance and employment-agreement amendment were adopted at the meeting on the motion recorded in the minutes.
