Delta County joins Operation Greenlight for Veterans, appoints members to building authority and reappoints election canvassers

The Delta County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 14 adopted a proclamation to join Operation Greenlight for Veterans and approved several appointments and reappointments.
Steve, identified in the meeting as the Veterans Services director, read background material on Operation Greenlight and said the nationwide initiative invites counties to light buildings green Nov. 4'11 to show support for veterans. He described county plans to adapt walkway and entry lighting at the courthouse and Veteran Services office and to use solar green stake lights and green coverings for overhead fixtures on walkways. "By shining a green light, county governments and our residents will let veterans know that they were seen, appreciated, and supported," Steve said. Commissioners approved the proclamation by roll call.
On appointments, the board discussed the building authority's inactivity and historical role in property-related projects. Commissioners appointed Emily DeSalvo and reappointed Larry Johnson to the building authority. The board also reappointed John Myers and Patty Warple as election canvassers. Motions to appoint and reappoint were moved, supported and approved.
These items were procedural and approved without extended debate.
