The Delta County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 14 approved the county's 2025 millage and appropriation report and authorized payment of claims totaling $918,512.47.
Administrator (name not given) presented the apportionment report, saying it "shows the spread of millages for all the county, township, cities, K-12 schools, the ISD, and the Baydonock College as well as the Delta Area Transport." The administrator reported that the county will collect $5,014,814.11 in extra voted millage and listed bond debt at $980,915.58. After the presentation the board moved to approve the report and the motion passed on roll call.
Earlier in the meeting the administrator moved payment of the claims, saying, "I've examined all plans presented and recommend payment of the following and that the county clerk be directed to issue orders on the county treasurer to the claimants for the amounts allowed." Commissioners approved payrolls and the claims by roll-call votes.
The administrator also briefed commissioners on a FY26 proposed budget book that will be published online: the document, she said, will split the budget by department, list millages and percentages, and include historical context to help the public and commissioners understand trends. The administrator said the budget book will be distributed to commissioners before it is posted so they may review it prior to the formal budget hearing next year.
No substantive amendment or further fiscal action was taken at the meeting; commissioners approved routine items by voice or roll call where recorded. The board canceled the Oct. 21 meeting and set its next regular meeting for Nov. 4, 2025 at the Delta County Service Center.
