Council to propose two alternates for Raymore Board of Zoning Adjustment

The Raymore City Council identified two candidates for alternate seats on the Board of Zoning Adjustment at its Oct. 20 work session and said it will forward the names for formal appointment at the next council meeting.
A council member passed written candidate materials to the dais and said the nominees were vetted by the community development director. "Those were suggested to me and were vetted by the community development director," the speaker said at 00:38:28.
Staff and council members confirmed alternates typically attend meetings and may exercise a vote only if there is not a quorum of regular members. "Correct," staff replied when asked whether alternates only vote when a quorum is lacking (00:38:54).
The council did not take a final vote at the work session; the appointments will be on the next meeting agenda for confirmation.
