The City of New Iberia approved Resolution 25-117, a change order for the American Rescue Plan Act-funded "1 Block at a Time" sheet-metal roof replacement project, and Resolution 25-118, the certificate of substantial completion for the same project.
City staff reported the contractor completed the projects in the program scope but two houses were removed from the scope because those properties had new roofs installed independently; the change resulted in a net credit of $14,500 to the city. Staff said any remaining funds, after finalizing all committed work and change orders, could be applied to pre-selected alternates but only for eligible roofs and only if the alternate met ARPA program eligibility and legal requirements.
A clerical error was noted in the contract paperwork where the contractor name was incorrectly listed; staff confirmed the error was not a substitution. Council directed staff to finalize project closeout paperwork and to hold remaining funds for alternates until all project obligations are complete.
