Engineer reports Illinois 251 work nearly complete; salt building and Park 90 access work progressing

Depkins said the Illinois 251 medium project is "pretty much wrapped up," with only block installation in corner islands remaining and milling and paving scheduled to begin on South of Roosevelt "sometime this week." He said milling began and that the West Service Drive will be reduced to one lane during patching and that flaggers will be present to manage traffic.
On the village salt storage building, Depkins said the walls are up, the floor is poured and electrical conduits are in; roof trusses were scheduled to be set the following day. He said the Park 90 Access Road is planned to start next week, with developer foundation work underway and initial storm sewer installations from Greenlee South planned first, followed by earthwork and aggregates.
Depkins also summarized pavement maintenance: carbon gutter work, sidewalk pours, manhole adjustments and crack filling schedules. "If all goes as planned, all paving and construction should be done on the 20 first," he said (transcript phrasing). The transcript records no board motions tied to these updates during the meeting.
