The Town Council approved an ordinance on Oct. 7 to annex a 200.0933‑acre parcel into the Town of Florence. The property owner submitted a petition and the council confirmed the statutory 30‑day waiting period, required public notices and boundary contiguity before voting.
The annexed area is expected to be incorporated into the Skyview Farms master plan and will carry the town’s closest compatible zoning — single‑family ranchetta (R1R) — upon adoption. Staff said the parcel is not a county island, the owner’s authorization was provided, and public notice requirements were met with newspaper advertisements and property postings.
Council action: Council adopted Ordinance No. 771‑25. Staff noted the annexation petition was filed with the Pinal County Recorder on Aug. 20 and the signed petition was received after the 30‑day waiting period concluded Sept. 19. No members of the public spoke at the public hearing.
Next steps: The property will be folded into the Skyview Farms PUD/master-plan process and future zoning and infrastructure review will follow town procedures.
