Granite County staff told the commission that the five‑year on‑call master engineering agreement with Great West expired in August. Under the contract terms, the county may extend the agreement for up to three one‑year extensions or pursue a new request for proposals (RFP) for a multiyear on‑call engineering contract.
Staff recommended preparing a one‑year extension to preserve continuity for ongoing projects and to allow time for a future RFP if commissioners prefer a longer-term solicitation. Commissioners agreed a short extension was prudent given ongoing county projects with Great West and asked staff to draft an amendment extending the contract through August 2026 and to provide RFP language if commissioners wish to solicit bids for a five‑year term later.
County staff will prepare the amendment and return it for commission approval at the next meeting.
