City staff show new golf-cart decal prototypes, set January mailing and April compliance deadline

Justin (city staff) said the new decals retain the same number size but reduce wasted space to make placement on front and back easier and save on printing costs. He said prototypes had been shown to council before the meeting and that staff hope to mail the new decals in January and give residents until April 1, 2026, to comply.
Justin said some older carts may require modification for decal placement and that local golf-cart dealers have offered to help residents install the decals. Council members asked about removing old stickers and were told products such as Goo Gone can be used; staff indicated enforcement would concentrate on front and back decals rather than side decals on older carts.
Staff warned there may be "growing pains" as the new decals are implemented and said a public communications campaign will accompany the rollout. No ordinance change or enforcement schedule beyond the stated April 1 effective date was adopted at the meeting.
