Adams County board adopts three resolutions including state support request for SNAP administration and two surface-water grant applications

The Adams County Board of Supervisors adopted three resolutions during the meeting.

Resolution 24-2025 asked the state to assume responsibility for increased administrative costs associated with income-maintenance programs following federal changes, according to the resolution text recommended by the Health and Human Services Committee. The motion to adopt was made by Supervisor Rick Pease and seconded by Supervisor Edwards; the clerk recorded a 19-yes, 1-no vote (Supervisor Podowski recorded as voting no).

The board also voted to authorize applications for two surface-water grants. Resolution 25-2025 would authorize an application for an Easton Lake Healthy Lakes project; Resolution 26-2025 would authorize an application for Friendship Lake management plan implementation. Both measures were recommended by the Land and Water Conservation Committee and were adopted on recorded votes, each 19-yes, 1-no (Supervisor Podowski recorded as voting no). A supervisor asked for additional information about alternatives and study methods during the Land and Water discussion; staff said the application is to seek grant funding and that further planning would follow if funds are awarded.
