The Hardy County Commission approved a memorandum of understanding with the Regional Development Authority related to a recent real estate purchase and moved to reappoint several RDA and planning/zoning board members to multi‑year terms.
Commissioners said the MOU documentation had been circulated and that all three commission signatures would be required; commissioners moved to approve the MOU and sign the document with an effective date discussed for July 1. The motion was moved and seconded during the meeting and staff indicated the document was in Clark Homelson’s possession for completion.
The commission also moved to reappoint RDA board members (names in the request) to terms expiring June 30, 2028, and separately moved to reappoint planning commission and zoning board of appeals members as requested by the respective boards. Motions were made and seconded with no recorded opposition.
A separate agenda item concerned the deed conveying Baker Park from the Board of Education to the commission and an updated survey correcting a prior description error; commissioners reviewed the corrected pages and opted to table final approval until they can have the county prosecutor review the corrected survey language and grant paperwork. “The only changes that happened was they corrected the survey because there was an error in the initial survey,” staff said; the commission tabled that item to the next meeting.
