Johnson City approves sewer design amendment and awards Washington County waterline contract

Staff presented Amendment No. 1 with LJA Engineering for the Sewer Basin K2C project, which covers final design and construction administration for the North Roan Street corridor area, with planned construction next spring and summer. Staff said the original contract with LJA for the preliminary engineering report was $47,300 and that the amendment covers final design, bidding and construction assistance. The exact amendment dollar amount was not clearly stated on the record.
The commission also awarded the bid for the 2025 Washington County Waterline Extensions project to Horizon Underground LLC. The project covers more than 10,000 feet of waterline extensions on Buckingham Road, Cox Road, Payne Lane and Bob Job Road for areas that currently lack water service. Per documentation included in the agenda packet, Washington County (Mayor Grama) will reimburse the city for engineering and contractor pay applications as the work proceeds.
Both consent items were approved as part of the consent agenda vote.
