A commissioner moved to nominate Brock; the motion was seconded and carried by roll call. Commissioners said the vice mayor role acts as backup for the mayor at events and in official functions, and noted they will coordinate schedules to ensure community outreach duties are covered.
Commissioners expressed appreciation for Brock’s public speaking experience and prior service. The appointment was made under the City of Johnson City Charter, Article 5, Section 24.
