The Board of Public Works and Safety approved an add‑on donation of a surplus automated external defibrillator (AED) from the Carmel Fire Department to Hamilton County Parks and Rec for placement at Coxhill Gardens.
Benjamin Lake, city attorney, described the item as a donation of an AED the fire department no longer needs after equipment upgrades and said the county would be required to sign release and indemnification language to accept the device. Lake explained the city would relinquish control and liability related to the device as part of the transfer.
The board approved adding the item to the agenda, then moved and seconded the donation and voted to approve it. The transcript shows the board recorded the vote as "Aye," and the motion carried.
