Fairview planning commission approves Otter Creek Phase 3 plat after residents raise safety and flooding concerns

The Fairview Planning Commission on Oct. 14 approved the final plat for Otter Creek Phase 3, Section 2, while addressing citizen concerns that a stormwater pond behind lots 148 and 149 can fill and pose risks to children.
The commission voted 9–0 to approve PC 41-25, which creates 34 single-family lots, extends and creates public rights-of-way and seven open spaces, and records a resubdivision of Open Space Lot 1 to match construction plans. Staff said the planned change reduced Open Space Lot 1 from 3.55 acres to 2.38 acres but that the overall open-space acreage was preserved by creating a new open space where Lot 94 had originally been shown.
