The Plain City Council opened a public hearing on Oct. 13, 2025 for RZ-25-2, a request to rezone 57.91 acres at 0 US 42 (Parcel No. 18-1173) from Restricted Industrial District (I-1) to Planned Unit Development (PUD). The hearing included comments from project representatives and a developer who spoke to the council.
Dwight McCabe, of 7361 Courier Road, Plain City, addressed the council and described recent progress on the project. "We've continued to evolve the project. We've had lots of activity, frankly. There's tons of interest in what we're doing out there, and we actually have letters intent in contracts on much of the development today," McCabe said. He also said the traffic-study process and discussions with Mid-Ohio have been slow and are the principal impediment currently facing the project, and that additional dialogue with city staff and engineers is planned.
The public hearing was opened and, after comment from the applicant and no further public speakers, closed. No vote or final council action on the rezoning was recorded at the meeting; the item remains in the public hearing/consideration stage.
