Plan Commission grants permission to publish public hearings for Preserve East and Preserve West plats

The Plan Commission on Oct. 15 granted developers permission to publish public-notice hearings for two residential subdivision primary plats: Preserve East (36 single-family R1 lots) and Preserve West (approximately 42 single-family lots plus acreage lots).
Jack Slager of Schilling Development said the projects received preliminary engineering or plat comments earlier the same day and that the comments appear limited to standard plat corrections and documentation. "We were here before you 2 weeks ago to talk a little bit about the Preserve East ... we did actually receive, the preliminary review from mister Dykstra this afternoon," Slager said. Town engineering staff confirmed most comments were clerical or standard conditional comments and did not foresee major issues that would prevent the projects from returning for the required hearings.
The commission voted to grant permission to publish notices for both primary-plat public hearings. Staff said the projects will proceed through the town’s normal primary-plat and site-plan review processes, including any required input from public-safety departments.
With permission to publish, each development will schedule a public hearing where the commission and members of the public may comment before any final approvals or plat-recording actions.
