The codes office representative reported to the Bedford County Courthouse and Property Committee that permit activity has been steady over the past six months and that the county recorded 43 new housing starts last month. The office also issued 49 school-tax permits for the city and 136 permits in total for the month, the representative said.
The committee received the written planning and zoning report but the planner (Chris) was not present to comment. Committee members did not ask follow-up questions during the meeting.
Committee members approved the meeting agenda and the Sept. 16 Courthouse and Property Committee minutes by voice vote earlier in the session.
