The Fairfax County School Board Governance Committee certified a closed meeting under the Code of Virginia and confirmed actions taken in that session, the committee chair said at the start of the public meeting.
Chair Miss Marin said the committee would "certify the closed meeting in order to comply with section 2.2 dash 37, 12 d of the code of Virginia," and asked for a motion to confirm that only matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed. The committee voted unanimously.
Following that certification, committee members confirmed motions to forward items discussed in the closed meeting. Doctor Anderson moved "to move policy. 26.11 as discussed in the closed meeting." Mister Frisch then moved "that the governance committee send policy. 80 to 40 as revised and discussed in close to the full board for adoption." Both motions were seconded and carried unanimously for those at the table.
These certifications and forwarding motions were taken at the committee's opening business and were recorded before the committee began its scheduled policy-review agenda.
