The Lakeville City Council approved its consent agenda on Oct. 20, excluding a pulled item, and later approved a development contract for a commercial project. Mr. Miller, a city staff member, told the council the resolution establishing the 2026 council meeting dates specifies meetings will start at 6:00 p.m.; the staff memo had mistakenly listed 6:30 p.m. Miller also noted acceptance of a donation from State Farm Insurance to the fire department in the amount shown in the staff memo.
Councilor Roger asked to pull consent agenda item 6M and said he needed to abstain from that item because his employer is a party to the contract. The council moved and seconded approval of the remaining consent agenda items; the motion passed by voice vote.
When the council took up item 6M, described in the agenda as a development contract for "Spirit of Branch and Farm commercial seventh edition," a council member moved and another seconded approval. The clerk read a roll call for that item: Permel — aye; Walter — abstain; Bulte — aye; Hellyer — aye. The motion passed. The transcript does not record the mover's or seconder's names for the development contract motion.
Announcements at the end of the meeting listed a work session on Monday, Oct. 27, and the next regular council meeting on Monday, Nov. 3. The council then adjourned.
