Councilmember Olson, who identified himself as current Lions Club president, said the funds were raised at the Hometown Heroes golf tournament in partnership with local veterans and community groups and were intended to support first responders’ fitness and preparedness. Olson thanked Captain Peterson of the public‑safety team for helping select equipment.
Councilmember Beatty moved to approve the donation; Councilmember Garza seconded, and the council approved the donation by voice vote.
