District presents fall schools update: safety training, community events and expanded CTE exposure

Safety: Administrative teams participated in Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) training and the district relaunched an anonymous reporting system for safety concerns. Site teams are also working on updated entry/exit procedures to reduce congestion and improve student safety at drop‑off and pick‑up.
Belonging: Schools reported homecoming activities at Tech and Apollo, building kickoff events and family barbecues and picnics that aimed to increase community engagement. Several elementary buildings launched building‑wide themes and student recognition programs tied to social‑emotional learning curricula.
Collaboration and excellence: The district highlighted community donations supporting junior high athletics, Tech student fundraisers and regional competitions where student teams brought home awards. Staff onboarding included nearly 99 new hires in August and September; the district continues partnership planning with St. Cloud Technical & Community College and local employers to refine career and pathway programming.
District leaders said additional updates and strategic plan materials are expected at upcoming board meetings.
