Riverton finance committee backs $1.01 million in claims; council confirms rec‑board appointment

Committee members discussed a charge for a dispatch center chair of about $3,000; a committee member said the chair purchase was fully covered by a grant and therefore reimbursable. Council members reiterated the importance of ergonomic seating for dispatch staff who sit for extended shifts.
At the council meeting the consent agenda — which included minutes from previous meetings and the finance committee recommendations — was moved and approved. Councilman Eric Carr abstained from vote on items tied to Bailey Enterprises. The mayor declared the motion passed.
The mayor then appointed Councilwoman Carla Borders to serve as the city’s representative on the Fremont County School District 25 recreation board. The council approved the appointment by voice vote; Borders accepted the appointment.
No further fiscal actions were taken during the meeting. Council discussion of the finance items was limited to clarifying questions about specific line items and confirmation that grant funds would cover the chair purchase.
