Representatives of the Associated Pomona Teachers (APT) introduced their executive board and bargaining team to the Pomona Unified School Board on Oct. 15 and announced that they had "sunshined" articles for 2025-26 negotiations.
APT President Mary Morales introduced numerous teachers and site representatives, described the union's emphasis on teamwork and equity and said the group is prepared to collaborate with district leadership during contract talks. Multiple APT leaders briefly identified their school sites and roles.
"APT is excited for negotiations and is dedicated to building bridges, advocating for educators and students, and bringing hope to the community of Pomona," Morales said.
The session was informational; the board did not take binding action but acknowledged receipt of the union's initial proposals and the district's responsibility to meet and confer as required by law.
