Provo — District staff told trustees on Oct. 14 that a private donor has offered $50,000 toward restoring the Tempview High School baseball field. The district presented a contractor bid of about $97,000 for infield regrading, laser leveling and seasonal topsoil/maintenance components; the larger figure includes a year of maintenance to recondition infield soils and grading so the field drains and plays reliably.
Staff said the work will remove old infield material, level the playing surface, improve drainage and replace topsoil where needed. Trustees asked whether turf would be a better long‑term solution; staff replied that the current proposal focuses on soil replacement and drainage and is less disruptive and less expensive than a full turf install. Staff said they will present a formal donation acceptance and a recommended funding plan for the remaining cost at the business meeting later the same evening.
