Band boosters ask board to restore marching band to stands at football games
Summary
Members of the Deer Creek band booster community and a parent urged the board during public comment to let the marching band return to the stands at football games so students can be heard and interact with the crowd; they cited playing audibility, potential equipment damage and missed events such as homecoming.

A band booster representative told the Deer Creek Board during the public-comment period that band parents and students want the marching band returned to the stands at football games. The representative said the current placement makes the band difficult to hear in the stands, reduces interaction between band and student sections, and increases the risk of instruments being struck during play.
A parent, identified in the comments as Catherine, said band students work long hours in rehearsals and that missing homecoming was a significant disappointment for students. Booster speakers asked the board to reconsider and, at minimum, allow the band back for one or two games while staff and boosters explore longer-term solutions.
Board members listened but did not take action during the public-comment period; the superintendent reminded the public that questions about employees must be directed to district staff and that the public-comment portion is time-limited.
