The Chandler Unified School District governing board voted Oct. 22 to approve a purchase of CTE equipment using the TIPS cooperative contract number 210902 for $1,003,685.41, including tax and freight.
Doctor [name redacted in transcript] Edgar told the board the items support the semiconductor CTE program at Hamilton High and automation/robotics programs at Arizona College Prep, Castile, Hamilton and Perry High Schools. Staff said the board had previously authorized the purchase in substance but the contract number was not included in the earlier approval; the current action provides the required contract reference for auditing and procurement compliance.
Mrs. Modston moved to approve the TIPS contract purchase; Mrs. Mendoza seconded. The board briefly clarified that this action did not expand the purchase but formalized the contract identifier. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
District purchasing staff said the procurement complies with Arizona school district procurement rules and that the equipment will be delivered to the district under the TIPS cooperative contract.
