Clermont County retables dog-and-kennel volunteer policy for further volunteer input and legal review

County staff told the Board of Commissioners that volunteer feedback prompted additional revisions to the proposed dog-and-kennel volunteer policy that was previously tabled on Dec. 18. Staff said they had met with volunteers and were attempting to revise the document to better support volunteers and the operation of the kennel.
Staff asked that the board retable the draft policy for two weeks to allow continued discussion and legal review. The board voted unanimously to remove the item from the table, continue discussions with volunteers and retable it for review on Jan. 29, 2025. Staff agreed to circulate the pending changes in advance so commissioners could review them before the next meeting.
No policy was adopted during the Jan. 15 meeting; the retable action explicitly continued the item for further volunteer feedback and for legal review.
