The Caswell County Board of Education adopted a budget resolution that sets the district’s expenditures and identifies revenue assumptions for the 2025–26 fiscal year. The chief finance officer told the board the resolution uses the latest provisional allotment from the state because the final state budget had not been passed.
Under the resolution, expenditures are presented first and revenues at the bottom (a formatting difference from other documents), but the CFO said the numbers match previously distributed materials. Board members asked about internal controls on moving money between purpose codes; staff confirmed transfers between major function codes require a budget amendment and that the adopted resolution preserves those controls.
Board members approved the resolution by motion after discussion; the board will receive subsequent budget amendments driven by the adopted resolution and encumbrances already in place for capital outlays.
