The Hyde Park City Council voted to rezone the property at 261 East Center from R‑2 to R‑4, a change officials said would support a future subdivision and create up to two additional building lots.
Planning staff told the council the Planning Commission held a public hearing that produced little comment and that, based on the packet and general‑plan analysis, staff had no immediate concerns about granting the rezone. "As far as city staff is concerned, this project meets with the general plan," a staff member said.
Daryl moved to approve the rezone and Tiffany seconded. Council approved the ordinance by voice vote. Staff reminded the council that utility locations and subdivision boundary adjustments will be addressed during subsequent permit and site‑plan review if the applicant pursues subdivision.
