During the director’s report, EDC staff summarized October activity and outreach and thanked the board for its support.
Staff reported attending multiple conferences and developer meetings, participating in dedications (including Hendricks Elementary), and sponsoring a commercial real-estate event in Dallas that yielded 362 new Facebook followers, bringing the page to 981 followers. "We had 10 real estate developer meetings, 5 BRE contacts, and 7 pre development meetings," staff said, and noted additional social media gains on Instagram and LinkedIn.
On finances, staff reported that overall sales tax for the month of August was down approximately 7% from the prior year, including CDC sales tax. "However, you will see next month that we will be reporting that there it's an increase," staff said, forecasting an improvement in forthcoming reports.
Staff reminded board members about upcoming ribbon cuttings (library and plaza grand opening on Nov. 15 and a separate ribbon cutting on Nov. 21 at 9:30 a.m.) and expressed appreciation for board service. The board adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
