The mayor opened the public hearing on the ordinance and, seeing no members of the public come forward to comment, the council closed the public hearing and moved to adopt. A roll‑call vote followed; council members voted in favor and the ordinance passed.
The ordinance was introduced at the Oct. 22 meeting and returned for a second reading on Nov. 12. Council members said the update is procedural and intended to modernize fees and licensing provisions for operators that serve Long Branch. No amendments were proposed at the Nov. 12 hearing.
The ordinance takes effect according to the timetable prescribed in the ordinance and will be advertised as required by law.
