Wellington introduces new business development manager, Elizabeth McGargle

Planning Director Cody Byrd introduced Elizabeth “Liz” McGargle to the Wellington Town Board during its Nov. 12 meeting, saying she will fill the town’s new business development manager role created to replace a vacancy and expand outreach to local businesses. “It is my great pleasure to introduce to you tonight, Elizabeth McGargle,” Byrd said, adding that the position carries a new set of roles and responsibilities for supporting economic growth.

McGargle told trustees she previously worked at the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Department of State, and described experience with operational improvements, intellectual property assistance for inventors, and strategic planning. She said she moved to Colorado two years ago and understands the daily challenges faced by small business owners, noting her husband recently launched a start-up.

Byrd and trustees welcomed McGargle and said staff will work with her to integrate business outreach and recruitment into the town’s strategic plan. No formal action was required; the introduction was informational and intended to make staff and the public aware of the hire.
