Jason reported limited rock-haul activity "with driver availability issues" and noted the pipe crew began removing a second field entrance bridge on D Avenue that had been crushed by a grain cart. Crews have been mowing gravel roads in the northwest part of the county, using a skid-steer mower on J-64 and addressing overhanging trees that obscure signs. Jason said tailgate sanders are installed on most trucks and that calcium chloride and road salt have been ordered for bulk tanks, with a first delivery arriving later in the week.
On wind-turbine related work, Jason said contractors were attempting to remove large cranes and equipment and expected to clear their gear from county roads by Thanksgiving; the county is patching haul-route damage on J-52 and coordinating with the turbine construction firms on turn-back of gravel roads. He also said crews held a safety meeting focused on winter operations, plowing and cold-weather protocols.
The board asked few follow-ups; Chair and commissioners thanked Jason and confirmed the next meetings schedule.
