Board welcomes new Brainerd branch manager for Kitchigami Regional Library

The Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners welcomed April Ristell, newly appointed Brainerd branch manager for the Kitchigami Regional Library system, during the Nov. 12 meeting.
Melissa Watley, executive director for the Kitchigami Regional Library system, introduced Ristell and said she will help oversee branches in the region, including Longville and Pine River. Watley thanked the board for approving a preliminary 3 percent levy increase for the regional library this year and encouraged commissioners to contact branch staff about local library issues.
Ristell said she recently returned to Minnesota after working in Florida and that she is eager to meet local patrons and staff at the Brainerd branch.
What’s next: Library staff will continue outreach to commissioners and the public on local branch needs and services; the 3 percent levy was acknowledged as part of the county’s preliminary budget work.
