Board approves custodial contracts, waterline work and chiller replacement; amends capital and general fund budgets

At its April 14 meeting Meade School District 46-1’s board approved several facilities and contract items and made budget amendments to fund capital work.
Contracts approved include a Visible Difference custodial contract for Stagebarn Middle School, an amended Loose Endz custodial contract at Piedmont Valley Elementary (adding day services), and a Cleanrite custodial agreement for the SBHS Academy and Ag Building for $32,481.11. The board also approved a revised Severson Dirt Works proposal of $55,858.52 to replace the Woodle Field concession stand water line after the city determined a new line location.
For campus systems, the board accepted a Rasmussen Mechanical Services quote for $16,349.00 to replace a chiller condenser coil at Sturgis Elementary and then amended the FY25 Capital Outlay budget by $16,500 to fund the work. The board awarded MB Services an agreement for $15,186.60 for fertilizer and weed control districtwide and amended the General Fund budget to recognize $10,000 in revenue from district credit card rewards.
These motions were moved and seconded by board members in the meeting and recorded as carried; individual vote notations for some items include noted absences or conflicts (e.g., Bruch absent on several items; one abstention with conflict recorded for the MB Services award and others as noted in the minutes).
