The Coconut Creek City Commission approved amendments to lease agreements with T‑Mobile South LLC that allow the company to modify equipment on a municipal communications tower and expand a ground lease area.

Staff reported the proposed amendment (fourth amendment to an existing lease) increases the loading factor on tower equipment by roughly 4% and clarifies nonexclusive easement areas and other lease terms. The fourth‑amendment item was before the commission for a second reading and public hearing; a separate first reading covered a fifth amendment for a Winston Park tower.

Vice Mayor Wasserman announced a recusal from both items because of his employment with T‑Mobile, and the commission recorded that recusal before the votes. Commissioner Bridal criticized the appearance of the existing tower, saying it "looks like crap" and urged that future modifications meet higher aesthetic standards. Staff noted representatives from Cityscape and T‑Mobile were present to answer questions.

The second reading of the fourth amendment was approved by roll call with the vice mayor recused; the fifth amendment was presented for first reading and will return for further consideration under the normal ordinance timeline.
