State Board unanimously honors A+ schools, Denton Magnet and proclaims Inclusion Week

The Alabama State Board of Education on Nov. 13, 2025 unanimously adopted a series of ceremonial resolutions recognizing schools and declaring an inclusion-themed week.
The board approved a resolution honoring the 2025 A+ College Ready Schools of Excellence and a separate resolution for the 2025 A+ College Ready Schools of Distinction. The board also recognized Denton Magnet School of Technology in Mobile County for its A+ College Ready achievement and adopted a resolution recognizing 'Inclusion in Alabama Schools' week in December 2025. Each item passed after a motion, second and a unanimous vote as announced by the clerk.
State Superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey praised schools' results with advanced-placement and inclusion efforts, saying, "Alabama actually outperforms most states, in in special education achievement." Mackey thanked board members and local school leaders for their work and noted photos of recognized schools and officials would be taken at the end of the meeting.
These actions are ceremonial recognitions and do not, in themselves, change policy or funding. The board announced its next meeting for Dec. 11, 2025 at 10 a.m. in the Gordon Persons Building Auditorium.
