Henry County OKs temporary epoxy fix for Bridge 115, five-year Motorola CAD agreement and several facility purchases

Bridge 115: Joe Copeland of SJCA (speaker 10) proposed a temporary epoxy-injection repair to reopen Bridge 115 on 400 South with a 17-ton weight limit while the county seeks federal replacement funds. SJCA estimated approximately $40,000 for epoxy injection on the superstructure and a total temporary-fix estimate near $50,700, with plans and specifications delivered about 60 days after notice to proceed and with yearly evaluations recommended. The board voted to proceed with SJCA’s proposal and to fund the temporary repair (motion carries 3-0).
Motorola/Spillman CAD agreement: County 9-1-1/communications staff (speaker 12) summarized an updated agreement that moves toward subscription billing, locks annual costs for five years, and adds a new radius/mapping service to consolidate multiple operational maps. The first-year 9-1-1 cost for setup and equipment is $12,500; ongoing annual cost afterward is $7,500. Joel (county counsel) reviewed the agreement and had no objections; the board approved the agreement by voice vote (3-0).
Fleet, ventilators and building repairs: The board approved identical upfit quotes to outfit two cabin-chassis trucks (road equipment funds available), authorized the purchase of two ventilators (staff said buying outright yields an immediate discount), and approved Piney quotes to replace fan-box valves and a stainless steel exhaust fan in county buildings. The board also approved a $2,800 storage invoice for the sheriff’s department.
Votes and next steps: All items above passed unanimously by voice vote. County staff will work with SJCA to finalize the temporary bridge specifications and solicit contractor quotes; 9-1-1 staff will implement the Motorola mapping integration and confirm ongoing billing and functionality.
