The Burns Harbor Redevelopment Commission approved purchase orders and vendor invoices on routine project bills and heard progress updates on Marquette Greenway phase 1. Commissioners authorized a $5,000 PO (PO 3382) for phase 1a resident landscaping and approved a $4,250 PO (PO 3381) to SEH for construction change updates related to phase 1a.
Staff and project consultant Matt Kaiser of Abba Marsh reported Army Sutton completed tree clearing on the trail and crews are working on adjustments to pipe elevations and downstream pickups. Kaiser said crews identified two small cracks in asphalt—one on the east–west leg and one near a northbound turn—and site services will inspect and recommend corrections.
A commissioner moved to approve PO 3382 for $5,000; the motion was seconded and the commission took a roll call vote that approved the PO. A separate motion to approve PO 3381 to SEH for $4,250 was also moved, seconded, and approved by roll call. Staff listed PO and appropriation numbers during the meeting: PO 3382 (appropriation 4445.001.392) and PO 3381 (appropriation 4445.001.315; project no. 177185).
The commission did not debate changing the project scope; discussion focused on confirming site inspections, contractor completion of tree removal and the timing of small asphalt repairs. Staff said the project paperwork is in place and that any remaining construction adjustments will follow the standard invoice and project-change processes.
The commission adjourned routine project business to follow normal procurement and inspection steps and will revisit any unresolved construction issues at a future meeting.
