Codes office reports steady permits, TCAT construction progress and pending ordinance consolidation

At the meeting the Trousdale County codes office reported steady permit activity and several ongoing projects, including progress on a local facility identified as "TCAT" and work consolidating county and municipal ordinances.

Rosalie Myhand said the office has seen fewer single‑family dwelling permit requests and more accessory‑structure and business‑license work. She described local development activity including grading and stormwater controls for a gas‑pipeline compressor station and associated solar array near Perrier's Bend and Boat Dock Road.

Myhand told the board "TCAT is moving very quickly," reporting that roof, mechanical systems and plumbing work are underway and that sewer systems and manholes have been tested; staff said the project team "anticipate their goal is to finish this and open by September." She said combined ordinance work has proceeded through the planning commission and is moving to the county commission with an expected adoption in January.

Amber Reyes summarized training‑hour tracking: she reviewed sign‑in sheets, contacted members to reconcile hours and offered to prepare packets of training records for members. Board members said they found the training format useful and suggested topics for next year including vesting rights and state changes that could affect local processes.

No formal actions were taken on these informational items at the meeting; staff asked members to suggest future training topics and to consider areas for possible rezoning study.
