Coppell city manager gives project updates: water interconnect tests, dog park, trails and service center progress

City Manager Mike Land provided a roundup of infrastructure and community project updates at the Nov. 11 Coppell City Council meeting.
Land said work is underway to test the recently completed emergency water interconnect tie‑ins that will allow the city to access additional water supplies. "All the tie ins are complete, and the testing is going on now, for us to be able to access that water," he said.
He reported progress on the Woodridge Channel concrete footing and Ready Rock retaining wall system, described substantial completion activity at the new dog park (storm drains installed, concrete pads and fence work ongoing) and said the Magnolia Park Trail punch‑list items are nearly finished and the trail is already open to residents.
Land also updated the council on DART Silver Line punch‑list work at railroad crossings and said the city's new service center is progressing toward a January substantial completion; interior finishes are underway and subsequent work will shift to the existing building. He noted interior demolition has begun on the south side of the Justice Center.
The manager thanked Public Works and Community Experiences staff for pulling together the Veterans Memorial Plaza dedication earlier in the day under a tight schedule and singled out staff by name for recognition.
