Local hospital tells county board pharmacy expansion, 340B use and new clinical hires aim to boost rural access

The hospital also announced new hires — including a new HR director and an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Jimmy Murphy — and plans to upgrade HVAC systems in surgical areas, to modernize imaging equipment and to remodel the front entrance to support expanded services. "We're going to be the largest economic driver in this county," a hospital executive said, tying clinical expansion to workforce retention and local economic development.
Board members thanked hospital leaders and noted the county's interest in supporting rural health infrastructure, while asking for continuing updates on costs and grant support.
