Yamhill council appoints three new planning commissioners for 2026–28

The Yamhill City Council unanimously approved appointments of Mary Gardner, Carol Pendergast and Grant Warren to the city’s planning commission for the 2026–28 term during its Nov. 12 meeting.
Councilor (speaker 3) made the motion to appoint the three candidates in one vote; another councilor seconded the motion and the mayor recorded the vote as unanimous. The council noted Mary Gardner and Carol Pendergast had been serving and applied to continue; Grant Warren had previously applied in May but lived outside city limits at that time. Under the newly adopted ordinance, residency within the same ZIP code and within five miles of the city is allowed, making Warren eligible.
Council members discussed swearing-in timing: the record notes Warren will be sworn in in January and the others will continue to serve through December. The mayor thanked the applicants and welcomed them to the commission.
