Summary
The Hernando–Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization approved four consent items Nov. 6, including Revision 4 to the Unified Planning Work Program, which recognizes $20,172 in PL funding from the Florida Department of Transportation and authorizes the chair to sign a related contract upon legal review.
The Hernando–Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization board voted Nov. 6 to approve four consent items, including a revision to the MPO’s Unified Planning Work Program that recognizes $20,172 in PL (planning) funding from the Florida Department of Transportation.
Bob Esposito, MPO staff, told the board the amendment to the UPWP (Revision 4) adds the $20,172 allocation and recommended that the board authorize the chair’s signature on contract G2V07 once it is received from FDOT and reviewed by the county attorney for form and legal sufficiency. Esposito also presented the Sept. 4 meeting minutes, the proposed 2026 meeting schedule and a recommended update to Citizens Advisory Committee bylaws to address longstanding vacancies in public transit user positions.
Commissioner Steve Champion moved to approve all four consent items, and Commissioner Jerry Campbell seconded the motion. After board discussion, the chair called a voice vote; members answered “aye” and the chair announced the motion carried. At the time of the vote staff noted there were eight voting members present.
The approved UPWP revision will be processed when the FDOT contract is received and verified by counsel; the board did not take additional action beyond the authorization to sign once documents are in order. The MPO staff will continue to coordinate with FDOT and return to the board if further documentation or action is needed.
